Can God Create an Object Too Big to Move?
Can God create an object too big to move? I think we have all given this question audience. Some of us ask out of sincerity and others out of ulterior motives. Regardless, let's look at it.
The first problem we find in this question is the premise. God can do anything that is consistent with His nature, therefore cannot do everything. For the Christian who hears this red flags go up. Allow me to explain. First, God cannot be tempted. James 1:13 states, "When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone." God cannot lie as seen in Hebrews 6:18: " God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged." And God cannot fade away, In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end" (Psalm 102:25-27).
Next is the problem of the question. It is good sometimes to question the question. Is this a sincere question, or is this merely a straw man? This helps you distinguish true intrigue versus attack and sabotage.
Last, as it is impossible to make a six-sided rectangle, the same is true for God's ability for God to break truth and logic, which He established. Though I will not address it now, it would be contradictory to God's nature to create a planet that appears young, but is really very old. Thus God creating an object to big to move contradicts his nature and reason.
