A few months ago I was at local retailer buying a new cell phone. The process took two hours, and I am glad. The young man who helped me engaged in a great conversation. We talked briefly about apologetics and then he asked the question: "Is God a Sexist?" This is not a new question. It can be worded in various ways, but the meaning is the same. "What do you mean?" I asked. "The Bible refers to God as 'He.'" "Ah" I started, "So you are asking is God male or female?   And why does He even use such descriptions?" He said "Yes." We know from Scripture mankind is created in God's own image (Genesis 1:27). This is a sign that men and women are in His image. God is not male or female, but He is above and beyond gender. Who made God? This is very common and good question. I think we all have asked it one form or another. I think it is important to look at the words of God, "' You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord , “And My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me " (Isaiah 43:10 NASB). Unlike the universe, which most in modern science agrees had a beginning, God is infinite and therefore eternal.  God is therefore the logical and only uncaused first cause. To assume that because the universe had a first cause, the cause of the universe must have had a first cause is illogical. It will always go to the question "and what caused that cause?"
